One-minute הלכה halachah שיעור shiur number 16: the very practical הלכות halachot of what does one do if you're up the entire night about נטילת ידים netilat yadayim? Now, the reason I say this is very practical is because number one, obviously because of שבועות Shavuot, and the other reason is because how many times do I walk into the ישיבה yeshivah and it's before עמוד השחר amud hashachar, and I hear just a loud screams and cheering from a classroom of about 50 guys who stayed up the entire night in ישיבה yeshivah to watch a pointless Monday Night Football game that means absolutely nothing. But either way, I see a lot of the guys that are staying up in ישיבה yeshivah all night, so it's a very practical הלכה halachah, and they're always asking me what to do when they see me in the morning. So what do we do? There's two reasons why one would, based on the main three reasons that we said before. One, so two of the reasons why one would, even if he didn't sleep: number one is because you're בריה חדשה beriah chadashah. Once עמוד השחר amud hashachar comes, you're a brand-new creation, ready to serve השם Hashem, so you should go wash like the כהנים kohanim. And number two is because there's a רוח רע ruach ra, right? Whether you slept or not, from the night there's a רוח רע ruach ra, once עמוד השחר amud hashachar comes you need to get rid of that. Now, because of those two reasons though, you would not make a ברכה berachah. So what do we do? We go to the bathroom. You should go to the bathroom once עמוד השחר amud hashachar comes, למעשה lema'aseh you should go to the bathroom, therefore make yourself, hands dirty, can't דאווען daven like that, so you're חייב chayav in a ברכה berachah, and now you make a ברכה berachah.
